Privacy Policy

Your right to privacy is protected and promoted throughout your engagement with this service.

  • Initial contact through the message box asks for contact details so that the psychologist can return communication via email and have a backup phone number if needed. The client’s age and a summary of the current situation is also requested so that the psychologist can determine whether this is an appropriate service for you.

  • The initial contact information is encrypted via the https website.

  • The website is securely hosted (i.e., has SLL certification), and is compliant with the New Zealand Privacy Act (2020).

  • The psychologist’s email system and client management system use double factor authentication. In addition, the psychologist’s computer uses strong passwords, is stored in a secure location, is regularly updated and all material i.e., emails and reports are cleaned off once a year. If there is ever any breach that poses a risk of serious harm, you will be notified.

  • The psychologist will contact people via email if; a) there is ever a security breach; b) if new services are developed; and c) relative to research questions.

  • The client has the right to opt-out of any future communications by clicking on the unsubscribe option at the bottom of any email.

  • The psychologist’s email system stores information on a cloud in New Zealand.  The client management system used by the psychologist stores information in Australia.  The digital cognitive assessment process involves information being processed and stored in America.

  • You have the right to ask for some or all your information to be erased on completion of the assessment (i.e., the right to erasure), with the caveat being that the psychologist should keep a record of any raw data and the report for ten years.

  • While raw cognitive data can’t be released to those without training in psychometric assessment, the client does have the right to use the data for their own purposes without explanation.

  • No information will ever be shared with a third party, unless consent is expressly given by the client i.e., the client consents to be included in a research question.

  • All information shared with the psychologist is confidential. This is unless there are safety or welfare concerns, which require the psychologist to seek supervision.

  • The psychologist has supervision with another psychologist once a month. During supervision, situations and reports may be discussed and reflected upon using the Code of Ethics and Code of Professional Standards. All identifying information is removed from these conversations.

  • In cases where the primary recipient is under 18 years old, both legal guardians must consent to service. The psychologist would then seek ongoing consent from the minor.

  • The client has the right to remove consent at any time i.e., decline further service.

  • Payment is due for the initial consult at the initial consult meeting. Please review the cost information on the website for options around how payment may be structured.

  • Appointments must be cancelled 24hrs in advance or payment is still due. However, as it is essential that clients are in good health for a cognitive assessment, so if a client is unwell, the psychologist just asks that you let her know as soon as possible, ideally 24hrs in advance.

  • If you agree with these terms and conditions, you can use this service. If you do not agree with any of the above, please refrain from using this service.

  • If you have any questions, please email ana@dyselxiaassessment.co.nz

  • Future updates on the privacy policy will be uploaded into this document.
